On This Day, January 29

Peter Yarrow, Noel Paul Stookey and Mary Travers, folk singers better known as Peter, Paul and Mary,  signed their first recording contract with Warner Bros. on January 29, 1962.  Peter, Paul and Mary’s repertoire includes “If I Had a Hammer” and “Where Have All the Flowers Gone,” both from their debut album in 1962. In 1963, Peter, Paul and Mary would release their biggest hit ever: “Blowin’ in the Wind,” written by Bob Dylan. Hear Peter, Paul and Mary at the library, on hoopla and in Freegal.
