Beginning Your Family Research: Sometimes the hardest thing to do is find out about your family’s history. You may have heard a story about your grandparents or their parents but you aren’t certain about how to discover the truth behind the story. Perhaps they arrived from a small town in Europe with only the clothes on their backs. The challenge of researching your family is not finding the documents- it’s the new stories that you uncover! Come to learn how easy it is to research your family. Registration is required by calling 609-967-7155 or stopping by the circulation desk. Avalon property owners may register on November 12. All others may register on November 25.
Making the Paper Talk: In this workshop, Casey will show participants how to examine five documents and look for other records to make the story come to life. About Avalon Free Public Library

Avalon is a bustling little shore town in southern NJ. Our small population of 1800 expands to about 30,000 at the height of summer. We like to think that we serve them all and then some! Our goal is to make our library available to our patrons wherever they may roam.
