Overdrive app now available for Kindle Fire

After a very loooong wait, Overdrive and Amazon have finally made the Overdrive Media Console app available through the Amazon app store. They have also tweaked the app a bit to make it more user-friendly. I recently downloaded it for the library’s Kindle Fire tablet and it seems very similar to the prior version for Android and iOS. Just remember, Kindle users, that while Kindle books are available through Overdrive, you want to select EPUB titles for use with the app. You may wonder why you should bother since Overdrive offers Kindle books, however, not all books are available in Kindle on publication or sometimes at all as a library book. The Overdrive app will give you a wider range of titles to choose from.
