Flight of the Conchords as well as Eagle vs. Shark

Flight of the Conchords, season 1 just came out on DVD the other day. I really like this show–it’s about a couple of New Zealanders in New York trying to make it in the music business. The pair are just ridiculously and sweetly geeky, and they write terrible songs that obviously will never take them anywhere. Their one fan, Mel, and their manager, Murray, have faith in them, however, and aid them in their various escapades. I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes quirky humor and stories about underdogs.

Also recommended: Eagle vs. Shark–a feature film featuring one half of the Flight of the Conchords team, Jermaine Clement, as a self-centered, single-minded loser who manages to attract shy and awkward Lily. His blind focus on revenge, however, causes him to lose her. This movie is seriously hysterical.
